Standard & Poor’s assesses Chiba Bank’s financial position as “adequate.” The bank has a strong business franchise in its home market of Chiba Prefecture, which lies adjacent to Tokyo on the Tokyo Bay and is one of the most important industrial concentrations in the country. Moreover, the bank’s lending portfolio is comprised of diversified small-lot credits, which reduces its exposure to stock price fluctuations. The bank’s funding is also solid and its liquidity position is relatively high. In addition, its outstanding balance of corporate bonds is only about 0.4% of total deposits. All of this enables the bank to resist changes in the market funding environment. Chiba Capital Financial Group
